The Black Girls Book Club in Paradise is a unique collaboration between your favourite book club and a women-led travel company. After a successful and fabulous getaway in Trinidad and Tobago, it was only right to replicate this Jamaica.
Melissa and Natalie, the founders of BGBC, have created a sisterhood of intellectual black women who not only discuss literature but also form part of a growing network of like-minded women. The Black Girls Book Club have events all over London, selling out in a matter of minutes. The ethos is a great environment, great discussions, and great company.
We will be taking this ethos to Jamaica, adding some Caribbean sunshine, cocktails and good vibes. Jamaica needs no help alluring you to her shores. You need no convincing to spend time immersed in her beauty, to feed off her vibrant energy or rock to her infectious melodies.
The island’s rich literary heritage is often overlooked. As Jamaica sheds its imperial legacy, the voices, stories, experiences, and words of its people have finally started to be given the recognition they deserve, putting Jamaica on the map as a global destination for book lovers. Making it a perfect paradise for us!
We will exploring and immersing into the local culture – hitting up off the beaten track spots, tasting the very best Caribbean culinary delights and partying like it’s our birthday.
Oracabessa, located on the North Coast of Jamaica will be our base. This small town, packed with history and beauty, has inspired many tales and provided refuge to authors, poets and musicians alike. ‘The Black Girls Book Club in Paradise’ is a trip dedicated to you, to sisterhood, and to take some time out, while surrounded by natural beauty and good vibes.
Expect good vibes, tan lines, in-depth conversations all while gaining insight into the local culture of Jamaica.

Who is this trip for?
Made for the solo traveler who does not want to travel solo, but instead with an interesting group of people and is not bothered with the planning and details but just showing up and having fun. At Divas we strive to provide the highest level of customer service and to perfect every detail of your trip. Our trips are best suited to easy-going and those amenable to change in the diverse and unpredictable landscape of grass roots travel in the Caribbean.
Accommodation details
Here at Divas, our primary focus is curating a trip that explores the natural beauty, local culture and provides an immersive experience. Thus, we will not be staying at the Ritz-Carlton or Hyatt.
All rooms are shared. You will be paired with another Diva (participant). If you are traveling with a friend and would like to share a room together just let us know.
We seek unique accommodations with plenty of charm and character that provide a worthwhile experience and provide local immersion. It is important to note that our accommodations are not high-end or luxurious to keep it authentic.
Rest assured our accommodations are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Pricing and Payment Plans
The Black Girls Book Club in Paradise costs £1200 per person for 7 nights and 8 days.
A non-refundable deposit of £150 is required for the booking. Final payment is due no later than 30 days before the scheduled trip. Please read our Terms & Conditions for further information about our booking policy.

Airport pick up & drop off – Sangster International Airport only. If you arrive or depart by other airports please note that you will have to make your own way to and from accommodation. Airport drop is only offered on the first day and last day of trip.
